Come out to enjoy local fashion and participate in “Garden of Earthly Delights,” Homer’s spring Wearable Arts fashion show happening on the flower moon.

“This is our second year as a ‘share the runway’ event!” said organizer Kari Multz. “The audience is encouraged to wear handmade clothing, and those who do so will be invited to walk – and possibly win some dollars for the judges’ favorite! There’s a mix of felting, knitting, macrame, up-cycled and new material fabrications in the show.”

The only requirement to walk in the audience runway is that the outfit be handmade, but it doesn’t have to be your own. You can model someone else’s designs or even wear vintage as long as it is handmade. Last year 70% of the audience showed their outfits.

After the judging contest, stop by the pop-up market in the lobby to browse wares from the featured designers.

Wearable Arts has been going since the early 1980s, with this year showing approximately 100 outfits made by local fiber artists.
