Peter Crimp has been elected to represent District 3 on the Homer Electric Association Board for the Southern Kenai Peninsula south of Kasilof. Crimp received 1,048 votes to candidate Bob Day’s 602 votes. Crimp takes the seat of former director Jim Levine, who chose not to run for re-election.
The results were announced last week in a press release from HEA. According to the release, 3,898 ballots were returned for a voter participation rate of 14.89%.
Also elected was District 1 (Kenai, Nikiski and parts of Soldotna) incumbent director and board Secretary/Treasure Jim Duffield, with 520 votes to 488 votes for opponent Patrick Parker of Soldotna. In District 2 (Soldotna-Sterling), incumbent director Dan Green of Soldotna was re-elected, with 723 votes to 477 for opponent Mitchell Michaud.
Immediately following the 2026 Annual Meeting last Thursday in Soldotna, HEA held a board meeting with directors and the elected officers. Dan Furlong was elected as President, Robert Wall was elected as Vice-President, Jim Duffield was elected Secretary/Treasurer and Wayne Ogle was elected as Deputy Secretary.
Chief Executive Officer, Brad Janorschke, expressed appreciation for all candidates.
“The Board of Directors represent the members across our service territory, and they play a key role in the strategic direction of our cooperative,” he said. “Before a critical decision is made at HEA, the board directors have an opportunity to consider and discuss the matter, provide input, and then cast a vote.”
“This process is vital as we all work to make decisions that are in the best interest of our members and the utility.”
Janorschke also extended his appreciation to all the members who participated in the election. “This annual election is a key opportunity for our members to be heard. As member-owners, their voices continue to be important.”
