The Homer Independent Press sponsors three showings of a documentary about investigative journalist Amy Goodman at The Porcupine Theater. “Steal This Story, Please!” shows at 5:30 p.m. June 6, 8:30 p.m. June 7 and 12:30 p.m. June 10.

Directed by Carl Deal and Tia Lessin, “Steal This Story, Please!” looks at Goodman’s career in reporting for decades from hotspots around the world: East Timor, Morocco, Nigeria, Gaza and closer to home during 9/11 and the Iraq War. Goodman and a small group of colleagues present the daily online, TV and radio news program Democracy Now!, which has been on the air since 1996 with no government funding thanks to contributions from donors, foundations and news consumers.
