June 2

An Anchor Point business reported that an individual had been caught on camera shoplifting a $5 alcoholic beverage the day prior. Anchor Point Alaska State Troopes knew the individual in the footage to be a 35-year-old Anchor Point man. He was contacted near the Valleyside Avenue area north of Anchor Point on June 3, and he admitted to the shoplifting. He was on conditions of release for a different case, and those conditions state he is to obey all local, state and federal laws. He had four prior theft convictions within the past five years resulting in a third-degree theft charge instead of fourth-degree theft. He was placed under arrest for two warrants, third-degree theft and violating conditions of releaseR. He was remanded at Homer Jail with a $50 bond for each warrant and to be released on his own recognizance for the new charges.

June 3

At 9:24 p.m., troopers stopped a vehicle near Mile 157 Sterling Highway for erratic driving. An investigation showed a 38-year-old Homer man was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation determined there was a firearm and a 6-month-old child in the vehicle. He was arrested and remanded into the Homer Jail on charges of DUI, fourth-degree misconduct involving weapons and first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor. Bail was set at $1000 and when sober.

June 7

At 8:07 p.m., troopers stopped a vehicle near Mile 156 Sterling Highway for an equipment violation. An investigation showed the driver, a 25-year-old Anchor Point woman, was driving with a cancelled license. She was given a summons to appear at a later date and released.

Alaska State Troopers responded to the area of China Poot Bay for a report of a terminated employee who was refusing to leave. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 33-year-old Palmer man for second-degree criminal trespass. He was remanded at Homer Jail.

June 10

At 8:42 a.m., a victim in a domestic violence case reported that the suspect, a 30-year-old Homer man, had contacted them earlier that morning via text messages. His conditions of release state for him not to contact the victim. Troopers contacted him at his place of employment in Homer later that day and he admitted to the communication with the victim. He was placed under arrest for first-degree unlawful contact and violating conditions of release. He was remanded at Homer Jail with no bail without issue.

June 1

At 11:26 a.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of Shelford Street for a missing person call. A parent had reported his adult son was missing. Officers investigated and found that the adult son was with some friends he had met in town. No crime, no further action required.

At 11:43 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Grubstake Avenue for a civil issue call. Officers assisted a citizen collect some of her items from the above location.

At 2:01 p.m., officers responded to the 4400 block of East Hill Road for a court order service. A subject was contacted at this location and taken to South Peninsula Hospital for evaluation, per court order requirements.

June 2

At 7:38 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of East End Road for an order violation report. The reporting party reported a violation of a court order after the fact. The incident was documented and is under further investigation.

At 8:22 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of West Fairview Avenue for an assault report. One party alleged an assault by another. The incident was documented.

At 1:19 p.m., officers served a court order on an inmate while incarcerated at the Homer Jail. The incident was documented, no further action required.

At 4:09 p.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of Lake Street for a trespass call. As a result, a person was trespassed from the above location for a period of two years at the request of the property owner.

At 5:11 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Jenny Way for an assist agency call. Upon arrival HPD officers assisted the Homer Volunteer Fire Department with a medical aid call.

At 6:27 p.m., officers responded to the 4600 block of Homer Spit Road for an assist agency call. Upon arrival HPD officers assisted HVFD with a medical aid call.

At 11:35 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Jenny Way for an assist agency call. Upon arrival HPD officers assisted HVFD with a medical aid call.

June 3

At 9:16 p.m., officers arrested a 37-year-old Homer man in the 100 block of East Pioneer Avenue. He was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail for a violating conditions of release/felony DUI warrant for $15,000.

At 11:08 p.m., officers responded to the 3700 block of Lake Street for an assault call. Officers documented the incident and then assisted HVFD with transport of the reporting party to SPH for medical treatment.

June 4

At 1:31 a.m., officers responded to the 3100 block of Homer Spit Road for a burglary call. The owner of the property stated that it appeared someone attempted entry into her food truck.

At 2:11 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of East Pioneer Avenue for a trespass complaint. Officers contacted a male inside an abandoned building and trespassed him from same for two years at the request of the property owner.

At 1:09 p.m., officers responded to the 4000 block of Bartlett Street for a traffic call. After investigation, a 50-year-old Kenai woman was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol.

June 5

At 9:29 a.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Linstrang Way for an assist agency call. HPD assisted HVFD with an unlawful burning call.

At 10:08 a.m., officers responded to the 4100 block of Mattox Road for a theft call. The caller reported that a bicycle belonging to a family member had been stolen.

At 11:01 p.m., officers fielded a call about a noise ordinance call regarding Harbor Fest and loud music.

June 6

At 2:14 a.m., officers responded to the area of Lake Street and Ocean Drive for a vehicle in the ditch (VID). The incident was documented.

At 12:39 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of West Fairview Avenue for a disturbance call. It had been reported that unlawful activity had been occurring in the presence of children. Upon arrival, officers found nothing criminal occurring.

At 1:31 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of West Bunnell Avenue for a disturbance call. The caller hung up on 911 and upon callback, a loud noise consistent with yelling was heard. As a result, a 54-year-old Anchorage woman was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail for second-degree criminal trespass and violating conditions of release.

At 8:57 p.m., officers responded to the area of East End Road and Pennock Street for a theft call. officers were dispatched to a bicycle in the ditch at this location. Officers retrieved the bike and found that it had been stolen, and they returned it to the rightful owner.

At 11:35 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Ohlson Lane for a missing person call. Later on this same date officers talked with the suspected missing person. No Crime, and no further action required.

Criminal cases disposed

May 29

Maria Kulikov, 29, charges dismissed, fourth-degree assault (recklessly injure) and assault when child present.

June 2

Kristi Lynn Swanson, 53, charges dismissed, failure to appear on a felony charge/conviction.

June 3

Megan Ellen Udelhoven, 36, charges dismissed, violating conditions of release for a misdemeanor. She pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (bac .08+ percent).
