The Homer Elks Lodge #2127 made two recent donations to Homer nonprofit organizations. Using $1,237.98 of an Elks National Foundation Beacon grant, on June 13 they purchased and delivered food supplies to the Homer Community Food Pantry. The Elks plan to make additional donations over the summer.

The lodge on June 8 also used $4,000 from an Elks National Foundation gratitude grant to support the Civil Air Patrol for supplies, including flight simulators, camping geat, and flags and poles for parades. CAP is a year-long development program for youth 12 years and up. Cadet sponsors and active senior members are also there to help support the CAP cadet program. The squadron combines both a consistent drive for education, fitness, and leadership with a spirit of fun and adventure.
