From small donations of less than $500 to more than $300,000, individuals and groups have donated $9 million to the candidates running for Alaska governor and lieutenant governor. Crunching the numbers, Will Koeppen of the Anchorage Press and Northern Journal breaks it all down in this series of interactive charts.
“Alaska currently has no individual limits on direct giving to campaigns, and with large donors stepping in to support their preferred candidates, the campaigns have collectively raised nearly $9 million. After an Aug. 18 primary, the field will be narrowed to four candidates and their lieutenant governor running mates,” Koeppen writes.
