July 25

Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point contacted a 61-year-old Anchorage man during an investigation. He was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and subsequently provided a breath sample of 0.147 BrAC. He was remanded to the Homer Jail for DUI.

Aug. 5

On Aug. 5 and Aug. 6, 2026, Alaska State Troopers received reports of two separate vehicle thefts off a single property near Soldotna. The property owner had installed a tracking device on one of the vehicles, allowing AST to quickly recover them in Anchor Point. Subsequent investigation determined a 29-year-old Homer man had stolen and then sold both vehicles. He was arrested and remanded to the Homer Jail on two counts of first-degree vehicle theft and one count of violating conditions of release.

Aug. 8

Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point responded to the area of Valleyside Avenue for a report that a woman was in violation of her conditions of release. Subsequent investigation determined she had approached a residence she was restricted from being near. She was arrested and remanded to the Homer Jail on one count of VCOR and held pending arraignment.

Aug. 10

At 2:20 p.m., troopers contacted a 39-year-old Anchor Point woman near Mile 131 Sterling Highway after troopers observed her driving a vehicle and knew her license was not valid. A records check confirmed her license was suspended, and she was given a summons to appear and released. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

Aug. 3

At 12:54 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of E. Pioneer Avenue for a juvenile problem call. Officers facilitated transportation for the juveniles to a safe location. No further action needed.

At 2:05 a.m., officers responded to the 5000 block of East Hill Road for an Assist Agency call. Homer Police assisted Homer Volunteer Fire Department with a possible medical call.

At 11:18 a.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of Ben Walters Lane for a threats call. It was reported that an unknown person called in a threat to the location. The incident was investigated and documented.

At 12:28 p.m., officers responded to the 3000 block of East End Road for a motor vehicle collision. After investigation, information was exchanged between parties.

At 1:10 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Hazel Avenue for a Warrant Arrest call. As a result, a 38-year-old Voznesenka man was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail for two fourth-degree assault warrants.

At 3:40 p.m., officers responded to the 60000 block of Bear Creek Drive for an assist agency call. HPD assisted Alaska State Troopers and HVFD with carrying an injured patient out of the woods for a considerable distance.

At 6:31 p.m., officers responded to the 3200 block of E Street for a disturbance call. Officers contacted the person making the disturbance, who complied when asked to cease the action.

At 8:13 p.m., officers responded to the 90 block of Sterling Highway for a violation call. It was reported that one party had violated a mutual order with the other party named in the order. The incident was documented.

At 11:38 p.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of Bay Vista Court for an assist sgency call. HPD assisted HVFD with a structure fire at the location.

Aug. 4

 At 1:52 a.m., officers responded to the 90 block of Sterling Highway for a burglary call. A male was reported to have broken the door glass of the business. An employee inside confronted the male and he left the area. The incident was documented and is being investigated.

 At 8:07 a.m., officers responded to the 4000 block of Ben Walters Lane for a suspicious circumstance call. The caller reported an unknown male was trying the door handle to his residence. The incident was documented and the caller was advised of their options. No suspects at this time.

 At 1:09 p.m., officers contacted and arrested a 24-year-old Wasilla man at HPD when he turned himself in on an failure to appear/warrant for driving under the influence.

 At 4:01 p.m., officers responded to the 90 block of Sterling Highway for a trespass call. The person in question was contacted and trespassed from the business at the request of the owner.

 At 4:43 p.m., officers responded to the 90 block of Sterling Highway for a suspicious circumstance call. The incident was documented and the caller was advised of their options.

 At 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Sterling Highway and Diamond Ridge Road for a “report every dangerous driver immediately” call. As a result, a 20-year-old Fernandina Beach, Florida, man was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail for Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer.

Aug. 5

 At 8:48 a.m., officers responded to Mile 168.5 Sterling Highway for an abandoned vehicle call. A small motorhome was towed from this location as it was parked illegally and presented a hazard to navigation. The owner could not be reached prior to towing.

 At 8:38 p.m., officers responded to the 4200 block of Homer Spit Road for an assist agency call. HPD assisted HVFD and responding fire units with a structure fire at the location.

Aug. 7

At 12:26 a.m., officers assisted HVFD with a medical transport from 625 Grubstake Avenue to South Peninsula Hospital.

At 10:26 a.m., officers responded to the 5000 block of Kachemak Drive for an assault call. After investigation, the allegation was proved to be false.

At 11:59 a.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of Ocean Drive for a theft call. The incident was investigated and documented. Follow-up to continue.

At 1:43 p.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of Lake Street for a warrant arrest. As a result, a 35-year-old Homer man was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail for six separate warrants.

At 9:07 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Hazel Avenue for a violating conditions of release call. As a result, a 42-year-old Homer man was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail for violating conditions of release (VCOR).

At 11:18 p.m., officers responded to the 4700 block of Kachemak Drive for a welfare check call. An automated call was made after a crash sensor in a vehicle activated. Officers located a vehicle in the ditch. There were no injuries to the occupant. The incident was documented and the driver cited.

Aug. 8

At 8:38 a.m., officers responded to the 90 block of Sterling Highway for a theft call. Officers contacted the person in question. At the request of the property owner, a one-year trespass was issued.

At 9:27 a.m., officers responded to the 4300 block of Freight Dock Road for a collision call. Two boats had a minor collision in the harbor. Both parties exchanged information. No further action was required.

At 11:31 a.m., officers responded to the 4000 block of Ben Walters Lane for an after-the-fact motor vehicle collision call. Officers facilitated an information exchange between both parties. No further action was required.

At 1:14 p.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Sterling Highwayfor a motor vehicle collision. A motorcycle had crashed at the location. HPD investigated the incident and assisted HVFD with both traffic control and medical assistance to the rider.

At 4:47 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of E. Pioneer Avenue for an assist agency call. HPD assisted HVFD with a medical aid call.

At 5:24 p.m., officers responded to the 3000 block of Freight Dock Road for a motor vehicle collision call. It was reported a trailer with a boat attached had come loose from its tow vehicle, causing damage to another vehicle and blocking the road.

At 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Fish Dock Road and Homer Spit Road for a theft call. A mountain bike was reported stolen. The incident was documented.

At 6:44 p.m., officers responded to the 4100 block of Homer Spit Road for a vandalism call. A smashed windshield was reported to police. The incident was documented and the owner was advised of his options.

Aug. 9

At 1:49 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Rangeview Avenue for a burglary/vehicle prowl call. Officers were advised of an unknown suspect going through a car. The incident was documented.

At 5:08 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Sterling Highway for a domestic violence assault call. As a result, a 50-year-old Anchorage man was arrested and booked into Homer Jail for domestic violence fourth-degree assault.

At 3:54 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of East End Road for a found property call. A citizen turned in a mountain bike that they found.

At 4:42 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Whispering Meadows Avenue for an animal call. It was reported that a person was bitten by a dog. The report was forwarded to Animal Control for follow-up.

At 5:14 p.m., officers responded to the 4200 block of Homer Spit Road for a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, both parties had already exchanged information. No further action was required.

Aug. 10

At 6:01 a.m., officers responded to the 4300 block of Homer Spit Road for a vandalism call. A citizen reported purposeful damage to his boat by unknown suspect(s).

At 4:24 p.m., officers responded to the 4000 block of Homer Spit Road for a suspicious circumstance call. The incident was documented.

At 5:11 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Rangeview Avenue for a vehicle prowl call. The owner of the victim vehicle reported items stolen from inside their car.

At 5:50 p.m., officers responded to the 4200 block of Main Street for a disturbance call. As a result, a 43-year-old Homer man was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail for violating conditions of release.

At 6:00 p.m., officers responded to the 90 block of Sterling Highway for a motor vehicle collision call. The incident was investigated and drivers’ information was exchanged.

Lauren Ashley Rusin, 36, charges dismissed, disorderly conduct (loud noise in public or private).

Aug. 5

Jonathan Thomas Domeraski, 28, charges dismissed, leaving the scene of an accident (unattended vehicle damage). He pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (bac .08+ percent).

David Ronald Vetterkind, 64, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (bac .08+ percent).

Lauren E Mckenney, 40, pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal trespass (in a dwelling).

Aleksander Savelieff, 57, charges dismissed, driving while license cancelled, revoked, or suspended with a previous conviction, improper use of registration, title, or plates, failure to carry motor vehicle liability insurance, and violating conditions of release for a misdemeanor. (Note: Dismissed via a plea agreement in another case).

John Candler Howard, 42, charges dismissed, violating a domestic violence protective order. (Note: Dismissed due to no probable cause).

Emery Buenaluz Pecson, 40, charges dismissed, driving while license cancelled, revoked, or suspended with a previous conviction.

Brent Zielinski, 50, charge dismissed, fourth-degree assault (recklessly injure).
