Sept. 10

At  5:11 p.m., the Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint regarding a red BMW tailgating, speeding, passing on the shoulder, weaving across lines, and passing in no-passing zones into oncoming traffic. AST located and stopped the vehicle, contacting the driver, a 68-year-old Anchor Point woman. She was arrested and remanded to the Homer Jail on one count of DUI.

Sept. 11

At 6:43 p.m., Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevy sedan near Kingsley Rd and the Sterling Highway for speeding. Troopers determined the driver, a 56-year-old Anchor Point man, did not have a valid driver’s license. He was issued a summons for driving while license suspended and a citation for failure to provide proof of insurance. A valid driver took control of the vehicle.

At 10:27 p.m., Alaska State Troopers were notified of a disturbance near the beer garden at the Sacred Acre Music Festival in Ninilchik. AST responded and assisted event security in detaining a 24-year-old Valdez man who breached the security perimeter and jumped on stage. He appeared to be under the influence of controlled substances and was arrested and remanded to the Homer Jail on three counts of assault.

Sept. 12

At 6:17 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received multiple REDDI complaints regarding a green Toyota SUV. AST located the vehicle near mile 140 of the Sterling Highway, observed it speeding and swerving, and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a Soldotna resident, showed signs of impairment and had a handgun in the vehicle. After Standard Field Sobriety Tests, he was arrested and remanded to the Homer Jail on one count of DUI and one count of fourth-degree misconduct involving a weapon.

Sept. 13

At 10:33 a.m., AST in Anchor Point received a report of a theft from a business in Ninilchik. An investigation revealed a 32-year-old Anchorage man concealed merchandise and left without paying while under court conditions not to consume alcohol and to obey all laws. Troopers noted a strong odor of alcohol on his person. He was arrested and remanded to the Homer Jail on two counts of VCOR and one count of fourth-degree theft.

At 1:03 p.m., troopers were notified of an assault that occurred earlier that morning at the Sacred Acre Music Festival in Ninilchik. An investigation revealed a confrontation occurred where a 32-year-old Anchorage man assaulted a 17-year-old male. He was remanded to the Homer Jail without bail on two counts of third-degree assault, one count of fourth-degree assault, and one count of Violating Conditions of Release.

At 8:19 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a call from a male reporting his heavily intoxicated girlfriend was attacking him. AST responded to the residence near Homer and contacted both parties. An investigation revealed the male had visible injuries, and the woman refused to provide additional details. A female resident was arrested and remanded to the Homer Jail on one count of domestic violence fourth-degree assault.

Sept. 4

At 9:02 a.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of Kachemak Drive for a lost property call. Property was reported missing from a vessel in the boat yard.

At 9:43 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of W. Fairview Avenue for a vandalism call. A structure was damaged.

At 12:35 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Sterling Highway for a disorderly conduct call. Officers contacted the parties involved.

At 3:50 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Ocean Drive Loop for a motor vehicle collision with damage call. The call was documented and a follow-up investigation is ongoing.

At 3:53 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Sterling Highway for a forgery call. The incident was documented and the financial institution in question was advised of the issue; they indicated they will investigate from their end.

At 8:40 p.m., officers responded to the 4400 block of Homer Spit Road for a driving under the influence call. As a result, a 30-year-old Linden, New Jersey man was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail  for DUI.

At 10:58 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Mountain View Drive for a disturbance call. Upon arrival, officers contacted all parties involved. The incident was documented and parties were advised of their options.

At 11:31 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of W. Fairview Avenue for a disturbance call regarding loud noise. Officers contacted the parties and the noise was shut down. No further action was required.

Sept. 5

At 10:35 a.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of Lakeside Circle for a trespass call. The incident was documented. Both parties are waiting for the civil courts to hear their case regarding lot line issues.

At 2:51 p.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Sterling Highway for a motor vehicle collision with damage call. The incident was documented and the at-fault driver was issued a citation.

At 6:23 p.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of Saltwater Drive for an Animal call regarding a fight between the reporting party’s dog on their property and an at-large dog. Neither animal was injured.

At 6:38 p.m., officers responded to the 4700 block of Homer Spit Road for a welfare check call. The person in question was contacted and requested a ride to SPH, which was facilitated. No further action was required.

Sept. 6

At 2:31 a.m., officers responded to the 4000 block of Pennock Street for a DUI call. As a result, a 37-year-old Homer man was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail for DUI, fifth-degree misconduct involving controlled substances, and promoting contraband.

At 3:20 a.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of Shelford Street for a vehicle theft call. Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot adjacent to where the reporting party thought they had parked it.

At 4:32 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Herndon Drive for an assist agency call. HPD assisted the Homer Volunteer Fire Department with a medical aid call.

At 6:50 p.m., officers responded to the 4100 block of Mattox Road for a Trespass call. The case was documented; once the other party is located, a trespass will be issued at the request of the property owner.

At 11:20 p.m., officers responded to the Police Department for a welfare check call. A citizen requested a ride to South Peninsula Hospital for non-emergenency medical assistance, and HPD provided a courtesy transport.

At 11:40 p.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Homer Spit Road for a trespass call. The subjects in question were contacted and issued trespasses at the request of the property owner.

Sept. 7

At 8:55 a.m., officers responded to the 90 block of Sterling Highway for a trespass call. All parties were contacted and advised of their options.

At 5:32 p.m., officers responded to 625 Grubstake Avenue for a warrant arrest call. As a result, a 29-year-old Bolivia man was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail  on a Soldotna AST warrant for failure to report for DUI.

Sept. 8

At 1:00 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Sterling Highway for a motor vehicle collision call. The incident was documented and information was exchanged between drivers.

At 1:47 p.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Main Street for a warrant arrest call. As a result, a 50-year-old Homer woman was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail  on a Soldotna AST warrant for failure to appear for driving with a suspended license.

Sept. 9

At 5:01 a.m., officers responded to the 4300 block of Homer Spit Rd for a trespass call. As a result, a 46-year-old Homer man was arrested via summons for second-degree criminal trespass due to a prior trespass warning at the location.

At 2:19 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Noview Avenue for an animal call. Multiple “dogs at large” issues involving a specific household were reported.

At 3:22 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Jenny Way for an assist agency call. HPD assisted HVFD with a medical aid call.

At 3:48 p.m., officers responded to the Police Department for an assist citizen call and helped a resident locate a business in the city.

At 9:00 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of W. Danview Avenue for a motor vehicle collision property damage call. The property owner was contacted and advised of their options.

Sept. 10

At 12:06 a.m., officers responded to the area of E. Pioneer Avenue and Kachemak Way for a DUI call. As a result, a 36-year-old Homer woman was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail  for DUI.

At 8:22 a.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of Lake Street for an alarm call.

At 11:06 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of E. Fairview Avenue for a disturbance call regarding an altercation between two students. The incident was documented and follow-up will occur.

At 1:48 p.m., officers responded to the area of Grubstake Avenue and Lake Street for a motor vehicle collision with damage. The incident was documented and driver information was exchanged.

Sept. 11

At 12:03 p.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of Main Street for a welfare check call. Officers assisted the caller in locating a family member who had not returned home on time. All parties were contacted and no further action was required.

At 8:35 p.m., officers responded to the 4300 block of Homer Spit Road for a disturbance call. As a result, a 35-year-old Mississippi woman was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail  for Disorderly Conduct.

Criminal cases disposed

Sept. 9

Kimberly Lisa Hicks, 40, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (BAC .08+ percent).

Dressida Sonshine Konovalov, 46, charges dismissed, violating a domestic violence protective order. She pleaded guilty to violating conditions of release for a misdemeanor.

Jason Paul Media, 50, pleaded guilty to attempted third-degree misconduct involving weapons (felon in possession).
