Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point were made aware that a 66-year-old Wasilla man with a warrant had been located in the Homer area. He had an outstanding arrest warrant for original charges of first, second, and third-degree sexual abuse of a minor. With the assistance of the Mat-Su Valley Criminal Suppression Unit and the Homer Police Department, he was located at a residence in Homer and taken into custody without incident. He was taken to the Homer Jail and held on $150,000 bail.
Oct. 5
On Oct. 5, 2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence off North Fork Road for a report of a disturbance. A subsequent investigation determined a 27-year-old resident had confronted a neighbor with a firearm following a dispute. He was arrested and remanded to the Homer Jail on one count of third-degree assault.

Sept. 30
At 10:52 a.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of Arctic Tern Place for a disturbance call. The parties in question were contacted, and the incident was resolved when Homer Police provided a courtesy transport to one party. No further action was required.
At 12:10 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Rangeview Avenue for an assist agency call. Information regarding illegal poaching of game animals was forwarded to the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for investigation.
At 12:23 p.m., officers responded back to the 600 block of Rangeview Avenue for a domestic violence assault call. Upon arrival, one of the two involved parties had left the scene. A follow-up investigation will occur.
At 1:51 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Highland Drive for a harassment call. The party in question was contacted and advised to cease all communication with the other party or face potential harassment charges. No further action was required at this time.
At 5:52 p.m., officers responded to the 4100 block of Mattox Road for traffic call. A bus driver reported a vehicle committed a stop-arm violation. A follow-up investigation will occur.
At 7:01 p.m., officers responded to the 3700 block of Ben Walters Lane for an assist agency call. HPD assisted the Homer Volunteer Fire Department with a medical issue.
At 9:15 p.m., officers responded to the area of Lake Street and the Sterling Highway for an assist citizen call regarding a vehicle with mechanical issues. After the vehicle was moved out of the roadway, officers provided a courtesy transport for the citizen to their residence. No further action was required.
Criminal cases disposed
Calvin Dean Dotson, 33, was found guilty after a trial for driving under the influence (BAC .08+ percent).
Jonathan Lewis Witherell, 41, charges dismissed, driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
Todd Leon Jasper, 56, charges dismissed, driving while license cancelled, revoked, or suspended for a criminal offense (dismissed due to no probable cause).
Espen Eugene Hennick, 19, charges dismissed, second-degree criminal trespass (upon premises, dismissed due to no probable cause).
