What’s new
Voting will take longer this year. Why? In 2025, voters in the Kenai Peninsula Borough voted to combine our elections with the state elections. Homer, Soldotna, Kenai and Seldovia will also hold their city elections on Nov. 3. Depending on where you live, you can vote in federal, state, borough and city elections.
Other important information
We advise checking the myAlaska voter portal. It shows where you will vote on Nov. 3. If you vote absentee, the portal will show when your ballot was sent and when it was received.
Very important: Since 2014, the Alaska Judicial Council has not recommended a NO vote for any judge. In this election, it recommends not retaining two judges and makes no recommendation for one judge. To learn how the Alaska Judicial Council makes retention recommendations and each judge’s evaluation, see the voter pamphlet (begins on page 108).

How do I vote early in Homer this year?
Early voting at Homer City Hall began Tuesday, Oct. 20, and runs through Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. When you vote early in Homer, be prepared to fill out ballots for each election. The city and borough elections are on separate ballots. At City Hall, you vote for state and federal elections the same way you do on Election Day. However, when you vote early in the borough and city elections, you vote absentee-in-person, which means you place your voted ballot in an envelope and drop it in the ballot box.
When you vote on Nov. 3:
You can take a sample ballot so you don’t have to memorize how you plan to vote. There will be two lines for elections. One line is for state and federal elections, and the other is for borough and city elections. Remember, if you voted at City Hall in the 2024 election, you will now vote at Kachemak Bay Campus.
Check your sample ballot out before you vote
Before you vote, review the sample ballot(s) and do your research. See the Kenai Peninsula and Cities Voter Pamphlet (pp. 69-70 for sample ballots for Homer’s city and Borough elections)
