Criminal cases disposed

On Jan. 23, Mercedes Alexandria Brown, age 29, was found guilty of one charge of second-degree theft, valuing $750 – $24,999. Three additional charges of theft and two forgery charges were dismissed. 


On Jan. 26, Patrick George Dylan Halbur, age 47, was found not guilty of assault, firing recklessly, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, driving under the influence and violating conditions of release.

On Jan. 26, Alexandra Juanita Rojas, age 45, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence with a breath alcohol content above .08%.

On Jan. 28, Sarah Ann Concia, age 49, was found not guilty of driving while under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. 

On Jan. 28, Destiny Noel Aragon, age 34, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 

On Jan. 28, Jason Michael Bailey, age 50, pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment  – offensive physical contact, and third-degree assault – causing injury with a weapon. 

On Jan. 28, Kimi Phyllis Narusiewicz-Malneritch, age 58, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal trespass. 

On Jan. 28, Kelsey Autumn Quinn, age 53, pleaded guilty to driving with a canceled/revoked/suspended license. 

Alaska State Troopers

On Jan. 27, at approximately 7:41 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a collision. An 80-year-old Homer man collided with an Alaska State Trooper’s vehicle, and was given a summons for reckless driving and citations for following too closely and failure to avoid a collision. 

On Jan. 28, at about 6:24 p.m., Alaska State Troopers cited a 35-year-old Ninilchik man for a suspended license after the man rolled his vehicle. The passenger of the car, a 52-year-old Anchor Point man, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was remanded to the Homer Jail. 

On Jan. 30, Alaska State Troopers, the Anchorage Deputy Fire Marshall and Western Emergency Services responded to a structure fire on Tall Tree Avenue in Anchor Point. A 64-year-old Anchor Point man was declared deceased and his remains were sent to the medical examiner’s office. Next-of-kin were notified. 

On Jan. 31, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation and determined that the 26-year-old driver had a suspended license. The driver was issued a summons to appear in court and released. 

Homer Police

Jan. 21

At 1:04 p.m., Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. No crime had occurred.

At 1:06 p.m., Officers responded to the report of suspicious circumstances. This case is under investigation.

At 3:20 p.m., officers performed a welfare check. 

At 4:43 p.m., a 25-year-old Anchor Point man turned himself in on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for arraignment for an original charge of driving while under the influence. 

Jan. 27 

At 8:05 a.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. No injuries were reported. 

At 8:17 a.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. No injuries were reported. 

At 11:56 a.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. No injuries were reported. 

At 12:53 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. No injuries were reported. 

At 3:01 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. No injuries were reported. 

Jan. 28

At 7:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. No crime had occurred.

Jan. 29 

At 12:48 p.m., officers assisted a Homer resident with a civil problem.

At 4:41 p.m., officers arrested a 47-year-old Anchor Point person on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court on an original charge of driving under the influence.

At 8:49 p.m., officers assisted Homer medics.

At 10:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of harassment. No crime had occurred. 

Jan. 30

At 4:05 a.m., officers responded to a noise complaint and arrested a 31-year-old Nanwalek woman for driving under the influence and violating conditions of release. 

At 8:43 a.m., officers arrested a 39-year-old Wasilla woman for probation violations and charged her with two additional charges of fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.

At 2:10 p.m., officers received a report of harm.

At 4:11 p.m., a caller requested an individual be trespassed from their property.

At 10:55 p.m., officers assisted medics. 

Jan. 31

At 4:40 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance and arrested a 33-year-old woman for six counts of fourth-degree assault, first-degree harassment, resisting arrest, criminal trespass, and fifth-degree misconduct involving weapons.

At 6:26 p.m., officers responded to a collision and arrested a 42-year-old Gainesville, Florida man for driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

At 9:56 p.m., officers arrested a 33-year-old Homer man for driving under the influence after seeing him drive on the sidewalk. 

Feb. 1

At 1:09 a.m., officers arrested a 33-year-old Anchorage man for violating conditions of release.

At 1:42 a.m., officers arrested a 35-year-old Homer man on a misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court on an original charge of third-degree theft.

 

At 3:33 a.m., officers assisted medics.

At 1:36 p.m., officers issued a summons to a 43-year-old Nikiski man for driving while license revoked.
