April 6

Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point received a report of a someone stealing a fuel jug from private property in Nikolaevsk. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of an adult male for Theft in the 4th degree. The suspect was remanded to Homer Jail.



April 7

Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point located a vehicle that was parked facing the wrong way on the Sterling Highway, impeding traffic. Subsequent investigation determined the driver, a 41-year-old Anchor Point man, was operating the vehicle while impaired. The suspect was arrested and remanded to Homer Jail on 1x count each of DUI and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.



At approximately 1:32 p.m., Anchor Point AST observed a man driving a maroon GMC Yukon on the Sterling Highway near Anchor Point. A traffic stop was initiated and dispatch confirmed that the man’s license was revoked for driving with a revoked license and he has multiple prior convictions, most recently on 6/25/24. The driver did not have liability insurance for the vehicle. He was arrested for driving with a revoked license, no motor vehicle insurance when required, and violating conditions of release. He was remanded at Homer Jail.

April 2

At 10:26 a.m., Officers responded to Ben Walters & East End Road for a vehicle collision. Officers conducted an investigation, and one party was taken to South Peninsula Hospital.



At 10:56 a.m., Officers responded to the 3600 block of Lake Street for a Welfare Check.



At 11:29 a.m., Officers contacted a person in the Homer Police Department lobby who wished to report a harassment in the 100 block of E. Fairview Ave.



At 12:15 p.m., Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora New York, advised that they had a Homer resident in custody at their facility for a separate charge. The male suspect had three active warrants from Alaska that were served to him.



At 2:13 p.m., Officers responded to the 90 block of Sterling Highway for a report of stolen groceries. Officers investigated.



At 3:30 p.m., Officers responded to the 90 block of Sterling Highway for a welfare check. Officers were advised of an unconscious man who had an aggressive dog with him that kept people from checking on him. Upon officer arrival, the man was awake and declined any medical services.



At 4:27 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of Pioneer Avenue for a trespass complaint in an abandoned building. Officers contacted several teens and spoke with them about their actions. No further action required.



April 3

At 3:38 a.m., Officers responded to a disturbance and arrested a 53-year-old Homer woman for Assault 4.



At 3:38 a.m., Officers responded to a disturbance.



At 3:41 p.m., Officers assisted medics.



At 10:05 p.m., Officers contacted a 23-year-old Nikiski male during a traffic stop. The man was arrested for Driving With License Revoked and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 4.



At 11:05 p.m., Officers responded to a disturbance.



April 4

At 5:43 a.m., Officers responded to a disturbance and found a male in need of medical assistance. While attempting to secure the male for Emergency Medical Service, the male attempted to command one of his two dogs to attack the officers. Charges of Assault 3 were referred to the Kenai DA’s Office.



At 2:07 p.m., a resident reported two people were looking through the bed of his truck earlier in the day.



At 9:22 p.m., Officers responded to a report of theft between family members, as well as an assault. A 36-year-old Cordova man was arrested for Assault 4 and Theft 2. He was further charged with three counts of Assault 4 and two counts of Harassment 1.



April 5

At 12:02 a.m., Officers responded to the 4300 block of the Homer Spit Road for a driver Driving Under the Influence. A 27-year-old male from Indiana was contacted, and arrested, and booked into the Homer Correctional Jail without incident.



At 12:41 a.m., Officers responded to the 4600 block of Craftsman Drive for a Forgery Investigation. The incident is under investigation.
