April 11
At 4:20 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a call about a single vehicle rollover near mile 138 of the Sterling Highway, in Ninilchik. Troopers and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The driver and the three juvenile passengers had sustained minor injuries. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old Ninilchik resident for one count of Driving Under the Influence with a breath alcohol content of .257, one count of Reckless Driving, three counts of Reckless Endangerment, and two violations of Failure to Properly Secure Child in a Child Restraint Device. The suspect was transported to Homer Jail for remand.
April 13
At 4:23 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately report near mile 162 of the Sterling Highway. The REDDI vehicle was located and stopped at mile 159 of the Sterling Highway. An investigation determined the driver, a 72-year-old Anchor Point woman, was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was given a summons to appear and released to a sober adult.
Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point conducted a traffic stop on an All-Terrain Vehicle driving on the Sterling Highway. An investigation determined the driver, a 57-year-old male, was driving under the influence. He was arrested and remanded to Homer Jail on one count each of Driving Under the Influence, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, and Driving While License Revoked.

April 9
At 8:15 a.m., Officers responded to the 90 Block of the Sterling Highway for a theft of merchandise from the store. After an investigation, a 17-year-old Homer male was arrested and released to his parent.
At 6:02 p.m., Officers responded to the 400 Block of Grubstake Avenue for a Disorderly Conduct call. An investigation revealed that a male had approached another person’s property and was yelling at this person’s children. A disorderly conduct warning was issued.
April 10
At 2:52 p.m., Officers responded to the 3800 Block of E Street for a theft complaint. An investigation continues.
At 3:37 p.m., Officers responded to the 3600 Block of Main Street for an assault complaint. After investigation, a 66-year-old Homer woman was charged with Assault IV (2 counts).
At 10:13 p.m., Officers responded to the 400 Block of Klondike Ave. for a trespass complaint. The property owner requested that the person be trespassed from his property.
At 11:15 p.m., Officers were advised of a sexual assault report. An investigation continues.
April 13
At 7:02 a.m., Officers responded to the 4300 Block of Bayview Court for a suspicious circumstance report.
At 10:10 a.m., Officers responded to the 3600 Block of East End Road for a Theft call. As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old male was arrested via summons for a charge of Theft IV and given a two-year trespass from the above location.
April 14
At 7:13 a.m., Officers responded to the 500 Block of the Sterling Highway for a report of Domestic Disturbance that had occurred at an earlier date in the week. The case is under investigation.
At 3:06 p.m., Officers responded to the 4300 Block of Bartlett Street for a report of a Violation of Conditions of Release. The case is under investigation.
At 4:30 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 Block of Klondike Ave. for a report of Trespass. The suspect was gone when police arrived. The owner was advised of his options.
Criminal Cases Disposed
On April 8th, 2026, Franklin Keaton, born 4/3/1987, plead guilty to Knowingly Providing a False Statement/Omission on Fish & Game Permit (x5); Unlawful Possession or Transportation of Game; Exceeding Hunting Season and Bag Limit for Moose in Unit 9; and Hunting without a Game Tag Record in Possession. Additional charges of Hunting without a Game Tag Record in Possession (x2); Nonresident Hunting without Resident/Guide; Hunting without a Nonresident Big Game Tag (x2); Unlawful Possession or Transportation of Game; and Perjury (x3) were dismissed by the Prosecution.
On April 8th, 2026, John Bailey, born 8/8/1961, pled guilty to Driving Under the Influence with a blood alcohol of greater than .08 percent.
On April 8th, 2026, Meranda Renee, born 1/13/1989, pled guilty to Theft 3 (value of $250 – $749).
On April 8th, 2026. Demetria Angelica Lugo-Sena, born 11/09/1990, pled guilty to Driving with Canceled/Revoked/Suspended License for Criminal Offenses.
On April 8th, 2026, Chance Grove Harris, born 1/30/1974, pled guilty to Driving with a Canceled/Revoked/Suspended License for a Previous Conviction.
On April 8th, 2026, Michael Bryan Looney, born 4/19/1990, pled guilty to the Improper Use of Registration/Title/Plates. An additional charge of Failure to Secure New Owner/Transfer of Title was dismissed by the Prosecution.
