The Homer Legislative Information office, located at 270 W. Pioneer, is open M-F from 8:30 am-12:30, 1-4:30 pm.  We are here to help you communicate with, learn about, participate in, and track matters facing your State Legislature.  We help navigate state government and assist the Permanent Fund Division by verifying passports and birth certificates.

BILL HIGHLIGHT: SB250: DATA CENTERS, UTILITIES

MEETING HIGHLIGHT:  Public testimony will be held on SB250, Thursday, at the 1:30pm Senate Community & Regional Affairs meeting.  Send written testimony to scra@akleg.gov. Come to the office or call 1-844-586-9085 or 586-9085 to participate.

LEGISLATIVE TIDBIT:  In 2006, citizens passed Ballot Measure No. 1, establishing a 90-day legislative session. (AS 24.05.150). The constitutional limit is 120-days. (Art. II, Sec. 8)  No special action is needed to go beyond 90 days but the Legislature must adjourn in 120 days unless extended for up to 10 days by a two-thirds vote of each house.
