The Kachemak Bay Writers’ Conference offers three nights of readings open to the public next weekend.

At 8 p.m. Saturday, May 16, poet Jane Hirshfield reads at the Mariner Theatre. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The  Homer Bookstore will have books to purchase in the main lobby.


From 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at the Kachemak Bay Campus, faculty from the conference will read. Presenting are Elizabeth Bradfield, Jamie Ford, J. Drew Lanham, Chris La Tray and Zoë Schlanger.


From 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 18, at the Kachemak Bay Campus, more faculty from the conference will read. Presenting are Bathsheba Demuth, Donika Kelly, Hanna Pylväinen, Peggy Shumaker and Diane Wilson.
