Alaska State Troopers
May 24
Alaska State Troopers at about 9:10 p.m. stopped for speeding the driver of a vehicle near Mile 161 Sterling Highway. Troopers determined the driver, a 36-year-old Anchorage woman, had a canceled license and issued her a summons for driving while license canceled and a citation for speeding.
May 26
A woman at 10:03 a.m. contacted Troopers regarding ongoing issues regarding a person she stayed with. Troopers investigated her claims and found she had assaulted the person with a knife earlier in the morning. Troopers also found her to be in violation of conditions of released and arrested her for third-degree assault and violating conditions of release. She was taken to the Homer Jail.
Homer Police
May 20
At 12:54 a.m., officers responded to the 100 Block of Fairview Avenue for a disturbance call. After investigation, no criminal action was discovered, and no further action was required.
At 9:21 a.m., officers responded to the 500 Block of W. Fairview Avenue for an assist agency call. HPD assisted the Homer Volunteer Fire Department with getting a patient transported to South Peninsula Hospital for medical treatment.
At 9:27 a.m., officers responded to the 90 Block of Sterling Highway for an assist agency call. HPD assisted HVFD with a large dryer fire at the above location.
At 12:40 p.m., officers responded to the 400 Block of Sterling Highway for a trespass complaint. Upon arrival the suspect was gone from the scene. The suspect vehicle was put out as a “be on the look out.”
At 2:33 p.m., officers responded to the 400 Block of Elderberry Drive for an assist agency/animal call. HPD assisted Animal Control with their investigation.
At 2:54 p.m., A violation of conditions was reported to the Homer Police Department. The incident was documented and is under investigation.
At 3:02 p.m., officers responded to the 4300 Block of Homer Spit Road for a suspicious vehicle call. Officers were advised two subjects appeared to be doing narcotics in a vehicle parked in a parking lot. Officers contacted the vehicle and occupants, and no drug activity was discovered.
At 3:45 p.m., officers responded to the 3700 Block of Lake Sreett for a suspicious circumstance/possible arson investigation. HPD assisted HVFD with the above call. The case is under active investigation.
At 4:50 p.m., officers responded to the 1000 Block of Ocean Drive for a trespass complaint. After investigation one party was trespassed from the above location for two years at the request of the property owner.
May 21
At 1:05 p.m., officers responded to the 900 Block of Seaplane Court for a harassment complaint. Harassment is via social media. After investigation, the incident was documented and the party was advised of their options.
At 2:36 p.m., officers responded to the 600 Block of E. Pioneer Avenue for a welfare check complaint. HPD was advised of a female in a parked vehicle who appeared to be having some sort of issue. After contact, a 35-year-old Homer woman was arrested for driving under the influence and fifth-degree drug misconduct and booked into the Homer Jail.
At 2:39 p.m., a 41-year-old Anchor Point man turned himself in on an active Alaska State Troopers warrant for his arrest for failure to appear for an original charge of driving while license revoked. He was booked into the Homer Jail and bonded himself out.
At 6:44 p.m., officers responded to the 2600 Block of Ben Walters Lane for a suspicious circumstance call. Caller reported a gunshot in the area. Upon arrival officers were unable to find anything. Single caller on this incident.
At 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the 4000 Block of Ben Walters Lane for a suspicious xircumstance call. Caller wanted to report multiple issues. Incident was documented and caller was advised of his options.
At 7:38 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 Block of Cook Way for a juvenile problem/suspicious circumstance call. officers documented the incident and have referred it for further investigation.
At 11:39 p.m., officers responded to the 100 Block of Ohlson Lane for a drug complaint. After investigation, a 37-year-old Homer man was arrested and booked into the Homer Jail for second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance (2 counts) and third-degree MICSas well as violation of conditions of release.
Criminal cases disposed
May 14
Mitchell Kenneth Bates, 37, charges dismissed, sixth-degree disorderly conduct (create hazard condition) and two counts of indecent production of a picture. He pleaded guilty to second-degree terroristic threatening (fear serious injury).
May 18
Ian Michael Tolva, 35, charges dismissed, driving while license cancelled, revoked or suspended (previous conviction) and fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance (possess any amount). He pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and violating conditions of release for misdemeanor.
Casey Tyler Mckinnon, 40, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.
Shannon Marie Riley, 61, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.
May 19
Riley James Harrington, 20, charges dismissed, third-degree criminal mischief (risk damage $100,000+) and driving under the influence (alcohol or controlled substance). (Note: Dismissed due to no probable cause).
