Staff report

In celebration of Flag Day on June 14, members of the American Legion Post 16 held a flag retirement ceremony to properly dispose of worn out United States flags. The U.S. Flag Code specifies that “The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.”
