I collect rainwater for household use in the area you tested without permission to disperse AgI. I am appalled that I was not contacted before you dumped silver iodide over me. I’ll send you the bill for water testing, and if any silver is found I’ll send you the bill for remediation. Perhaps you should (have) read “The Firecracker Boys” by Dan O’Neill if you don’t want to relive a terrible history.

Grateful for Homer Foundation support of local radio 

KBBI would like to thank the Schroer Family Fund through the Homer Foundation for their generous donation to KBBI for Fiscal Year 2026.  Donations like these to our general fund are crucial to the station’s financial stability and covering ongoing operational costs, and support daily activities like reporting local news, broadcasting Homer City Council and Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly meetings, and sharing weather and community information, serving listeners across the Southern Kenai Peninsula, Homer, and Seward.

As a locally supported public radio station, KBBI depends on the generosity of foundations, businesses, members, and other community partners to keep these services available. General operating support is especially valuable because it gives the station the flexibility to direct resources where they are needed most. The Schroer Family Fund’s support helps KBBI continue its commitment to providing reliable local information and strengthening the communities we serve. We are deeply grateful for their investment in KBBI and in the people of the Southern Kenai Peninsula.
