Birding group to host seabird researcher

The Kachemak Bay Birders’ next meeting will be 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters Visitor Center.

Following a short business meeting, Dr. Kathy Kuletz will present “Pursuing the mysteries of the Brachyramphus murrelets of Kachemak Bay.”

Kuletz has studied seabirds in Alaska for more than 40 years as a researcher for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. She has studied the distribution, habitat use and population trends of marbled and Kittlitz’s murrelets in Kachemak Bay and will review what we know about these species.

All KBB events are cosponsored by AMNWR. All events are free, and everyone is welcome to attend. For questions, contact Lani Raymond at 907-399-9477.
